Winds of Change

Call it the right wing puritanical purge…
Call it censorship…
Call it a lob of dynamite at net neutrality…
Call it tap dancing on moral high ground…
Call it whatever you would like…

By now many, if not most, of you have heard about our great God Google (Praise the Lord G!  On your knees with me, PRAISE THE LORD G!) and the change in terms.  While there is enough gray in their change to say that this blog may not disappear after March 23rd, there is also enough confusion to say that it might.  The current loophole is that if you’re a member of the blog you will still be able to access it.  How anyone hears about it or asks to become a member is unanswered.  And, of course, this does not mean a future change won’t affect continued existence.

In anticipation of the change, I’m open to any suggestion for where this can be moved.

Criteria:
A site that is easy to use.
A site that is easy to access.
A site that is not invasive of privacy i.e. not requiring a phone number to become a member.
A site that doesn’t compress images to save space.
A site that is relatively stable and not subject to the winds of moral indignation.

Any suggestions?

  1. Well said. If you have any answers to the question, I'm happy to hear from it also to move my blog. Lord G becomes arrogant.

  2. Wait and see....!!!...There are several sites to move to...but...their formats are different than Google Blog. And you may not like them. It turns out that the Google Blog format is ideal for your work.

  3. I also have a blog on google. I'm cautiously hopeful that my blog may survive the purge, as it is purely a story blog, and the change in TOS only mentions images and videos. Actually, one of my stories did have images, but I have since removed those. However, if someone comes up with another site that would be more amenable to our genre, I would definitely be open to moving there. Are there any here who have tumblr blogs? If so, what are their restrictions if any, as well as how easy is it to use?
