The Opening

  1. Excellent combat images! The man about to die probably knew that he would not survive this fight, but his defeat was not for lack of trying. There is always the chance that the outnumbered underdog could prevail.

Both images are great. For a couple of reasons I particularly appreciate the first one. If the fighter is helmeted, the option of making him clean-shaven is preferable to me. The beard in the second image is manly and appropriate for the period, but combined with the helmet, it obscures even more of his handsome features. Second, you have a particular skill with lighting and shadow, and the first image of these two demonstrates it well. The sunlight illuminating the floor and the helmets of the fighters also highlights the men's muscle tone and creates contrasts of light and shadow that add to the depth of the visual experience.

Thanks for your hard work on these images and for your always stimulating imagination.

  2. Fantastic work! Perfectly captures the moment when the warrior is fighting off one foe, only to feel and look down to see another foe sticking a sword in his belly. Poor guy didn't have a chance with 2 on 1.
